You know the drill. It might be pumpkin spice everything at the moment, but all things pumpkin spice will soon giveway to all things peppermint mocha. And no, we’re not talking My Little Pony, although with all of the marketing tactics they are deploying lately, I wouldn’t be surprised to see Starbucks release a new Rainbow Dash drink in the near future.  While it might seem insignificant to some, this change in flavors signals the end of lazy summer days and the start of the race to the holiday season. Somehow in the fury of planning office holiday parties and doing the tasks necessary to wrap things up for the year, busy marketing executives sometimes forget about their need for employee gifts.  While it may seem early, we suggest that if you aren’t already having the holiday gift conversation with your clients, you should start now. In order to help you do this, we’ve got an unbranded flyer that you can download from our site, or customize and send right from our site.

Our traditional holiday themed items are limited to our domed ornaments. You can find these by clicking here. However, we also have some other items available that are sure to put a smile on the faces of all who receive them. To add holiday flair, just mix them with a little out-of-the-box thinking!

In no particular order we present to you, The 12 Days of Christmas – EMT Style!

  1. PromoLoops – These full color loops keep phones safe from costly drops and keep your marketing message visible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  Check out the video to learn more!
  2. PitchFix – Clients who love golf will also love our PitchFix products. These retail tools can be branded and come with various packaging options.
  3. Purse Holders – Stop the spread of Bagteria and look great while doing it! These pateneted products offer a high perceived value with a price that’s easy on the budget!
  4. Lapel Pins – Lapel pins are great for recognizing years of service, or sending a message of gratitude. We have both stock and custom options available so you can choose from something we already have, or create your own. Pair with a custom package to give these tokens even more flair!
  5. Air Fresheners – Looking for a stocking stuffer or white elephant type item? Engage all the senses and incorporate creative messages into our full color, custom shaped air fresheners.
  6. Medallion Plates – When you need a higher end gift for the more traditional buyer, or desire a gift that might also serve as an award,  we’ve got just the right option for you. Medallion plates come in various sizes and can be personalized as well.  They are available in two-tone gold or silver, antique brass,  silver or copper finishes.
  7. Beverage Openers – What better way to spread holiday cheer than with a great looking product that helps open beer!?
  8. Poly Resin Sculptures – While this might not be something you’d think of instinctively, poly resin sculputures can be a unique way to commemorate something or someone. For a very traditional company, this is a great option to memorialize a founder or important figurehead.  However, for the non-traditional marketer, casting an object or something that lends itself toward humor and the less serious, could make this item a big hit for recipients.
  9. Bracelets and Pendants – We carry a full line of InspireRings products. Made of nickel, brass, or steel, these items have a retail look and feel.
  10. Key Tags – It may sound cheesy to have a key tag on a list of holiday gift giving ideas, but there is a reason so many gift shops stock them….People buy them! And these aren’t your plain jane key tags either.  Our key tags marry form and function. If the recipients keys are going anywhere, your logo is going with them!
  11. Challenge Coins – Commemorative and collectible, these inexpensive keepsake items are not only classy, they are an item that will be kept and admired for years.  Be sure to ask about our storage and display options!
  12. Ugly Christmas Sweater Ornaments – I know we already talked about Christmas oranments, but these deserve a special call out. What holiday party is complete without the ugly Christmas sweater?  We love this product so much we even wrote a blog post on it.

And there it is. The 12 days of Christmas EMT style!  When it comes down to it, every client has a unique need.  If one of our products can help you be your client’s holiday hero, please contact us right away.  Until then, enjoy that pumpkin spice latte, or Oreo cookie, or Twinkie, or whatever else it is they are flavoring with pumpkin spice. Talk to you soon!

The Power of Promo

Industry professionals are using the hashtag #powerofpromo, and for good reason! These often small products can make a big impact when used correctly.

We recently wrote a post on a patch we did for a self promotion campaign in alignment with our attendance at the PromoMarketing Power Meetings. This set of patches became coveted and meeting attendees were not only eager to perform the actions necessary to receive the patch, but as we are hearing, most of these patches made the trip home and were kept by the recipients. That’s a big deal!

Similarly, Catherine Graham of commonsku issued a challenge from the stage at skucon for the audience to write down three scary things they always wanted to do, but were too scared to do.   The challenge Catherine issued resonated with us so we decided to create something to send out to remind people of this challenge after this amazing conference. Our team developed a postcard mailer that was both visually stunning and also included something tactile, an adhesive patch with the words “Get Comfortable on the Edge” on it.  The patch was a simple, full color product that people could peel off and keep nearby as a reminder to do the things that scare them.  In addition the card included a very strong call to action, asking people to write down their three scary things and then go do them!

Some of these pieces ended up on commonsku and in other social media feeds, and are still showing up even now, almost half a year later.

One of these posts was from our friend and supporter, Charity Gibson, who posted not once, but twice.  The first photo she posted was right after the event and her three things were 1) Ride roller coasters at Six Flags, 2) Move out of State, and 3) Visit China.  In a follow-up post four months later, she posted this:

Another memorable post was made by our friend Anna Henley of Spot Prints. She posted this photo and commentary:

The thing I really love about posts like these are that promotional products have the ability to do so much more than just hold a logo.  A pin, a patch, or though we don’t sell them, even something as simple as branded pens, have the power to help brands share messages and tell their stories. Even more, these products have the power to help brands become a part of their clients’ stories.  When you find a way to do that, you win, and the prize is so much more than just a one-time transaction.   A win like this means you develop relationships, earn trust, and build loyalty.   THAT is the #powerofpromo!

Putting Our Money Where Our Mouth Is

In a recent industry webinar it was said that as promotional products professionals, we should be our own best case studies. Sometimes in the race to sell promotional products, we forget that they are the most effective means by which to build our brand, retain current clients, and help to bring on new ones.

This got us thinking, so we decided to put our money where our mouth is!

At EMT, we have a myriad of different items available that range from personal protection and golf items to a variety of pins and patches. As a major marketing initiative, we have spent the last few years attending various PromoMarketing Power Meetings. We recently decided to get a little more strategic with the merchandise we leave behind at these meetings, and to do it in a way that really showcases not only the power of promotional products, but who we are as a company.

Who are we?

Along with being known for creating highly effective campaigns for clients that utilize both the items detailed above that we stock and also very often creating custom pieces, EMT employs a balanced culture of professionalism mixed with just the right about of envelope pushing. We are real people who, just like you, want to come to work everyday and enjoy what we do. We are sales and service people, but we are also coffee drinkers and beer drinkers. We are hard working individuals that can’t help but stand a little taller when we are commended for a job well done, and we also appreciate having a little humor infused in our days.

Playing off of these concepts when creating our new PowerMeeting leave behinds, our team came up with these. Introducing EMT Made, limited edition, PromoMarketing Power Meeting Adult Merit Badges.

EMTPowerMeetingPatchPack

We are only a couple of meetings in on our second day in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but already people are smiling when they receive them, laughing at the different sayings, proudly wearing and taking photographs of them, and vying at a chance to earn them. If there was one word that could be used to describe the effectiveness of this campaign, it would be: SUCCESS!

Published on: March 15, 2017

We were fortunate to be sponsors for the promotional products industry’s most disruptive educational event, skucon. And, because patches are on fire in both the retail and promotional markets we thought it fitting that custom adhesive patches be our contribution to the skucon swag bag. EMT and commonsku created five different patches with the help of the talented Tee Hamilton. These patches are representative of the different functions needed to run a successful business operation.

Did you attend skucon? If so, which patch did you snag? If not, take a look at the photo. Which one fits you?

The idea of failure does not dishearten you, but instead provides the fuel for your brighter than the sun, “I’m going to take over the world someday” fire.

What people say, you see. Conversations become pictures and movies in your mind. You are able to articulate and convey brand message differently than most. You might tell the story through actual written word, or maybe you have possess the skills necessary to transform thoughts and ideas into pictures and logos. Whatever your unique skills might be, your existence in the mix is necessary because you add color and breathe life into what would otherwise be a boring world full of monotony and routine. While the world is busy building boxes and trying fit themselves into them, you are busy turning those boxes into airplanes and helping our brands take flight and soar to new heights.

Marketing:

You can have the best tasting pie on the planet, but if no one knows about it, you aren’t going to sell any of it! You are responsible for ensuring that not only do people know about the pie, but that they feel like they can’t live without having a piece of it. You believe that your company has the best story to tell and are charged with making sure this story is heard by the greatest number of people in the shortest amount of time. A marketer is Cupid personified, armed with a bag full of your-company-branded arrows, you head into the world with the goal of helping people fall in love.

The entrepreneurs dreamed it up, the creatives brought it to life, the marketers have told the world about it, and now you get to head in to seal up the deal! Your feature-benefit game is strong and you can overcome the objections of the masses before people even have time to object. You are the relationship builder, creative problem solver, and customer-factory liaison. You are charming and full of passion and personality, and are able to think on your feet. If you’re really great at what you do, you don’t have to play the price game to get business. In your world, it’s all about value baby. Priceline negotiator ain’t got nothin’ your mad skills.

There’s no time in your world for unicorns and rainbows. You are the straight shooter tasked with efficiency. Systems and processes? Now that’s your jam! More often than not, you can be found behind the scenes, working long hours. Your desk is most likely piled high with orders to enter and bills to pay, which you could get to a lot more quickly if you weren’t also fighting “UPS Delivery Exception Notification” and “Why is the printer jammed again” fires. Yet still, you do what it takes to make it happen. Creatives can keep doing their thing. Marketers can keep marketing. Sales can keep selling. And the entrepreneurs can keep…well.. God only knows what they are doing by now, but thanks to you, we can all keep on keepin’ on. To the operations rockstars, you are the unsung heroes, and for this we salute you.
